Daredevil #74: In the Country of the Blind! #74

About this issue

The whole city has gone blind, and only one man can see a way through the chaos. In Daredevil #74, the Man Without Fear faces his most unusual challenge yet in "In the Country of the Blind!", a classic Bronze Age adventure from March 1971. When darkness strikes New York, panicked crowds stumble through the streets and Foggy Nelson cries out that he can't see. For Matt Murdock, a lawyer who has lived without sight since boyhood, the crisis turns the tables. His radar sense and acrobatic skill give him an edge no one else has, and criminals who think a citywide blackout is the perfect cover are about to learn otherwise. Written by Gerry Conway with moody, dynamic art by Gene Colan, inked by Syd Shores, this issue is packed with rooftop brawls, crashing sound effects and sharp, snappy street-level dialogue. Colan's fluid action and dramatic shadows make it a great pick for fans of vintage Marvel, Daredevil collectors and anyone curious about the character's early-1970s run. A self-contained thrill ride with a clever hook, it shows why the hero without sight remains one of Marvel's most compelling street-level champions.
