Daredevil #4: Killgrave, the Unbelievable Purple Man! #4

About this issue

Here comes Daredevil, the Man Without Fear, in a classic Silver Age adventure that introduces one of Marvel's most unsettling villains: Killgrave, the Unbelievable Purple Man! A strange, purple-skinned stranger strolls into a New York bank and calmly asks for a case full of crisp new hundred-dollar bills. The teller hands them over without a moment's hesitation. No weapon, no threat, no struggle. What is the mysterious power that makes everyone obey his every word? Blind attorney Matt Murdock must find out. As Daredevil, he faces a power that none are able to resist, and even his heightened senses and acrobatic skills may not be enough. Soon the hero finds himself surrounded by a hostile crowd, sensing their hatred and wondering why the whole city seems to be turning against him. Written by Stan Lee with art by Joe Orlando and inks by Vince Colletta, this October 1964 issue is a must-read for fans of vintage superhero comics, Marvel history and the early days of Daredevil's long-running series. With its bold covers, snappy 1960s dialogue and a villain whose power is truly chilling, it is a perfect pick for collectors and newcomers alike.
