Daredevil #71: If an Eye Offend Thee... #71

About this issue

Daredevil, the Man Without Fear, returns in a classic Bronze Age Marvel adventure from December 1970. In "If an Eye Offend Thee..." the city is uneasy, tension is ticking like a time bomb, and the hero's own conscience is on trial. After a explosive confrontation with mysterious troublemakers, Matt Murdock finds himself caught between the law and his secret life. As a district attorney's office prepares to prosecute a group of young protesters, Daredevil prowls the rooftops of Manhattan with his radar sense on high alert. Then a menacing new figure appears, a hooded judge with a gavel and a verdict of death, and the Man Without Fear is suddenly the one being hunted. Written by Roy Thomas with moody, cinematic artwork by Gene Colan and inks by Syd Shores, this issue showcases the shadowy, dramatic style that made Colan's Daredevil a fan favourite. Expect sweeping city views, dynamic acrobatics, courtroom tension and the stylish captions and thought balloons typical of Marvel's golden era. Perfect for collectors of vintage superhero comics, fans of Daredevil and anyone curious about the street-level heroes of 1970s Marvel.
