Daredevil #46: The Final Jest! #46

About this issue

Daredevil, the Man Without Fear, faces his most desperate hour in this classic Silver Age Marvel adventure from Stan Lee and Gene Colan. Booked for homicide and locked inside a full-security prison hospital, the blind lawyer-turned-crimefighter is trapped behind bars with his secret identity hanging by a thread. The mad prankster known as the Jester has left Daredevil weakened by his strength-sapping gas, and an enemy within the prison sees a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn the hero's real identity. With no allies nearby and a murder charge hanging over him, Matt Murdock must find a way out before the secret behind the mask is exposed. Gene Colan's moody, cinematic artwork and dramatic layouts make this issue a standout of 1960s Marvel storytelling, while Stan Lee's trademark wit and breathless narration keep the tension high from the very first page. Embellished by George Klein and lettered by Artie Simek, it is a perfect read for fans of vintage superhero comics, Daredevil collectors and anyone who loves the golden age of Marvel. This issue, cover-dated November 1968, delivers a fast-paced tale of prison-hospital escapes, hidden identities and razor-edged suspense.
