About this issue
Where it all began. SPAWN: ORIGINS, VOL. 1 collects the stories and artwork that laid the groundwork for the most successful independent comic book ever published. Betrayed and murdered by his own people, government assassin Al Simmons makes a deal with the devil for one chance to see his wife again. He returns five years later as a Hellspawn – with a scarred body, a living cape and a limited supply of hellish power – only to find that Wanda has moved on with his best friend. Experience the debut of Spawn himself, alongside the Violator, the Clown and a gallery of memorable and menacing characters who would shape the series for decades to come. Featuring remastered cover art from creator Todd McFarlane. Collects SPAWN #1–6.
