The Hunt, Part 4 #4

About this issue

The hunt for Spawn reaches a shocking turning point in Spawn #24, the fourth chapter of "The Hunt" from Image Comics. After a long, strange night in the streets and alleys of New York, Detective Sam Burke and his partner Twitch Williams finally stand over the fallen, masked vigilante who got Burke suspended from the force. Spawn, the hero revered by the homeless of the Bowery, lies broken in the rubble after a brutal showdown with the Mafia's cyborg hitman, Overkill. Twitch's sharpshooting saved Spawn's life, but now the two cops must face the question that has driven their investigation: who is the man under the mask? As the mask is drawn back, the answer raises more questions than it settles, and the search becomes far too personal to leave unresolved. This issue delivers the dark, gritty atmosphere that made Spawn a defining title of 1990s comics: dramatic shadows, sweeping red cape and chains, and a street-level crime story colliding with supernatural horror. A great pick for fans of anti-heroes, urban noir and classic Image Comics storytelling, and an essential chapter for anyone following Al Simmons' tragic saga.
