Spawn #116: Consequences #116

About this issue

Spawn returns in issue #116, "Consequences", a dark chapter from Todd McFarlane's long-running Image Comics series, published in March 2002. Ben Nakadai is reluctantly visiting Japan, the land of his ancestors. In the ruins of an ancient temple he discovers a golden box that seems to have been left for him to find. Back at his hotel, Ben opens the cask, and the choice sets something in motion that cannot easily be undone. Meanwhile, Spawn feels an unease spreading through the streets and countryside of Japan. Ghosts begin to roam the air, restless souls that only the hellspawn can bring peace to. Behind it all, the schemes of Mykoto have been moving into place, and the door that Ben has opened will not soon be closed. With moody, atmospheric art by Angel Medina and a inking team including Danny Miki, Victor Olazaba and Allen Martinez, plus a striking cover by Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane, this issue mixes supernatural horror, dark urban narration and the gothic style that made Spawn a landmark of 1990s and 2000s comics. A great pick for fans of anti-heroes and occult mystery. Start reading Spawn #116 instantly in your browser, with no download required.
