Spawn #105

About this issue

Hot, sticky New York night. The lines have been drawn, the big picture is set in stone, and Spawn, the Hellspawn, has only one thing to do: wait and see who makes the first move. Spawn #105 opens "Retribution Overdrive" Part 1, a high-octane chapter in Todd McFarlane's long-running dark superhero saga. Plotted by Steve Niles and Todd McFarlane, with story by Steve Niles, the issue follows the tense run-up to a violent confrontation, as fire and destruction rain down on the city. Angel Medina's dynamic pencils, enhanced by the inks of Danny Miki, Victor Olazaba and Crime Lab Studios, and the rich colors of Brian Haberlin and Dan Kemp, give the book its signature gothic, explosive look. The issue is capped by a striking cover from Greg Capullo, featuring Spawn's swirling crimson cape, heavy chains and a pack of snarling white hounds beneath a pale moon. Whether you are a long-time Spawn collector or a reader who loves dark, atmospheric superhero action, this issue delivers brooding narration, striking splash pages and a jolt of infernal energy.
