Spawn #33

About this issue

Manhattan's sewers become a hunting ground in Spawn #33, a dark and brutal chapter of Todd McFarlane's blockbuster Image Comics series. The rain has stopped, the streets are draining their filth into the tunnels below, and something monstrous is waiting in the shadows. With a fanged, chain-wrapped horror lunging from the cover, this issue delivers the gritty, gothic atmosphere that made Spawn a defining title of the 1990s. Moody, rain-soaked cityscapes give way to claustrophobic underground nightmares, where a taunting voice promises pain, piece by piece, and threatens the one weakness of the hellspawn anti-hero. Expect richly detailed, ink-heavy artwork, saturated colours, and the narrated, noir-style captions that gave the series its distinctive voice. A cat-and-mouse game of fear, betrayal and suspicion unfolds, as Spawn must work out who is a friend and who is a foe before it is too late. Ideal for fans of dark superhero comics, horror-tinged action and classic 90s Image Comics, this issue is a great pick for collectors and for readers exploring the Spawn universe.
