Spawn #28

About this issue

Spawn is back on the blood-soaked streets, and this time he has a message for every thug who thinks the alley belongs to them. In Spawn #28, the hellspawn antihero stands over the bodies of those who crossed him, a living warning sign for anyone who dares to walk on his turf. Hunted, beaten and shot at since his return from the grave, Spawn is a man wrapped in a living costume, with a crimson cape, a chain-draped arsenal and fury smouldering beneath the surface. Now an enraged enemy, wounded and unstable, is ready to explode, and the stage is set for a brutal clash in the shadows of the city. Created by Todd McFarlane, Spawn is one of the defining dark superhero series of the 1990s. This issue delivers McFarlane's signature style: dramatic, jagged layouts, heavy shadows, a menacing cape and gritty urban atmosphere, with inner monologue captions that give a glimpse into the mind of an antihero on the edge. If you love dark, violent, street-level supernatural action, this chapter of the long-running Spawn saga is a great pick for fans and collectors alike.
