Spawn #26

About this issue

Hell's most reluctant soldier returns in Spawn #26, the December 1994 issue of Todd McFarlane's blockbuster Image Comics series. Al Simmons, the murdered government assassin turned Hellspawn, walks a bleak line between the supernatural war that created him and the very human suffering he sees in the streets of New York. This issue opens with a brooding meditation on evil, money and the way greed seeps into everyday life, set against a smoky, bat-filled skyline. From there the story drops into the grim reality of the city's forgotten people: an old man, a cold courtroom decision and a desperate phone call about a little girl he refuses to lose. It is a gritty, character-driven chapter where the real horrors are not always demons. With its dramatic cover of the chained, crimson-cloaked Spawn crouched in a swamp, moody inks and stylised 1990s colouring, this issue is a must-have for fans of dark superhero comics, urban horror and the golden era of Image Comics. Perfect for collectors and for new readers who want to explore the Spawn saga one issue at a time. Read Spawn #26 instantly in your browser on E-ComicBooks.com, with no download required.
