Spawn #25

About this issue

New York is on edge, and the city's news channels cannot stop talking about the costumed figure stalking its streets. In Spawn #25, the media frenzy around the hellspawn vigilante grows, while police, government agents and cyborg mercenaries all converge on the same blood-soaked battleground. This issue of Image Comics' groundbreaking dark superhero series opens with a sharp, satirical look at the TV news circus. CNN, E! and other networks argue over the mysterious new hero of the Bowery, as the FBI, the CIA and the cops try to make sense of the chaos. Meanwhile, in the dank alleys of the sprawling city, the homeless outcasts who live in Spawn's territory see him as their own resident messiah. With a striking cover of Spawn looming over the rooftops, wreathed in his crimson cape and chains, and moody, richly coloured 1990s artwork, this issue captures everything fans love about the series: gritty urban horror, supernatural menace and dark humour. Perfect for collectors of 1990s Image classics and for readers who enjoy dark, atmospheric superhero stories.
