Spawn #88: Seasons of Change #88

About this issue

Halloween night falls over the city, and in the shadows of a run-down neighbourhood a frightened little girl waits alone in her room. Locked away by her stepfather as punishment, Mary tells her own story in a haunting, innocent voice, while the violence downstairs grows louder and her mother is away at work. But she is not as alone as she believes. Above the rooftops, under a starry sky, a red-caped figure watches in silence: Spawn, the chained and cloaked anti-hero of Todd McFarlane's long-running dark series. Moody, atmospheric and emotionally raw, this issue shows the human side of the horror that stalks Spawn's world. With lush, heavily inked artwork, dramatic page layouts and a rich palette of midnight blues and burning oranges, Seasons of Change is a striking example of the Spawn series at its most intense. It mixes street-level drama with supernatural dread, and builds its tension through the eyes of a child. Perfect for fans of dark superhero comics, gothic horror and gritty urban stories. Mature readers who love Spawn, Batman-style vigilante tales or atmospheric comic art will find plenty to enjoy here. Start reading online instantly in your browser, with no download required.
