Spawn #97: Heaven's Folly #97

About this issue

Spawn #97, "Heaven's Folly", plunges back into the dark, violent world of Todd McFarlane's legendary hellspawn antihero. Published by Image Comics in July 2000, this issue is written by Brian Holguin with plot by Holguin and McFarlane, and features the striking artwork of Greg Capullo, inked by Danny Miki. Spawn lies defeated, impaled upon a pole after a brutal clash with the mighty Urizen, as the Earth itself begins to reclaim him. Elsewhere, the demons who lured him into the trap face the watchful gaze of the warrior angel Angela, who demands answers about their mission. Haunting dream sequences, lush green-world imagery and a war between Heaven, Hell and the living planet set the stage for a chilling chapter of the long-running series. With its fiery orange-haired Angela cover, painterly colours by Dan Kemp and Brian Haberlin, and gothic atmosphere, this issue is a must-have for fans of dark superhero comics, supernatural horror and the golden age of Image Comics. Whether you are a longtime collector filling the gaps in your Spawn run or a new reader curious about the mythos, this issue delivers moody, mythic storytelling.
