Spawn #86: Abdication #86

About this issue

Spawn #86, "Abdication," drops the Hellspawn into one of the darkest nights of his unlife. Billy Kincaid, the twisted killer, has taken over the body of a police officer, and the fallout from the battle in the alley is only beginning. Al Simmons, the burned and bitter soldier turned demonic avenger, must face the cost of his choices as a guilt-ridden war of words unfolds between him and the mysterious old man Cogliostro. Written by Brian Holguin and Todd McFarlane, with powerhouse art by Greg Capullo and inker Danny Miki, this issue pairs brooding, atmospheric storytelling with the gothic, hellfire visuals that made Spawn a defining 1990s Image Comics series. Expect moody splash-heavy pages, grotesque detail, and philosophical confrontations about death, guilt and the price of power. If you follow Spawn's long-running saga of Heaven, Hell and one man's struggle to hold on to his humanity, this chapter is a gripping continuation. It is a must-have for collectors of McFarlane's dark superhero universe and for fans of supernatural horror comics.
