Wolverine: Origins #17 – Our War, Part 2 #17

About this issue

Wolverine: Origins #17 plunges into the Second World War as Logan looks back on his earliest meetings with Steve Rogers, the man who would become Captain America. Following the superhero Civil War that tore through the Marvel Universe, Captain America has been assassinated. Wolverine, mourning the loss, finds himself drinking at the Sentinel of Liberty's memorial, where he remembers the battlefields they once shared. "Our War, Part 2" opens on December 8, 1941, as the United States enters the conflict and Canada, already two years into the fight, sends its toughest soldier into the thick of it. Written by Daniel Way with gritty, expressive art by Steve Dillon, this issue mixes brutal wartime action with a personal tribute to a fallen hero. Marko Djurdjevic's moody, near-monochrome cover sets the tone for a story of loyalty, loss and the bond between two very different legends. If you follow Wolverine's long-lost memories and his mission to punish the conspirators who wronged him, this chapter adds an important piece to the puzzle. Rated for mature readers due to violence.
