Thor's Shield #23

About this issue

Thorgal, the legendary Viking archer with a destiny far larger than any village, returns in Thor's Shield, volume 23 of the acclaimed European fantasy adventure series, written by Yves Sente and painted by Grzegorz Rosiński. An immense army of strange warriors is gathering, and the fate of many peoples hangs in the balance. Thorgal and his companions find themselves drawn into a perilous quest where ancient Norse myth, forgotten technology and fierce loyalties collide. At the heart of it all lies a mysterious relic tied to the thunder god himself. Rosiński's richly painted artwork brings a haunting world to life, from misty armies and rugged landscapes to a vast machine hidden deep within a cavern. Sente's script balances heroic action with the family bonds and moral choices that have made Thorgal a favourite of European comics readers for decades. Originally published in French by Editions du Lombard as Le bouclier de Thor, this English edition from Europe Comics is perfect for fans of Norse legend, sword-and-sorcery and epic fantasy-flavoured science fiction. Newcomers can dive in with the adventure, while long-time followers will relish the next chapter in Thorgal's saga.
