Thorgal: Child of the Stars #1

About this issue

A child found adrift among the stars, a people in search of a new home, and a destiny that no one can escape. Child of the Stars is the first Cinebook volume of Thorgal, the celebrated European adventure saga created by writer Jean Van Hamme and painter-artist Rosinski. This volume brings together the opening chapters of the series, from the tale of The Lost Drakkar, in which a band of Viking-era wanderers sets sail in hope of new adventures, to the story of the boy who grows up among them. Raised as one of their own, the young Thorgal is a stranger with a mysterious origin, and he must prove himself in a harsh world of warriors, gods and ancient legends. Rosinski's richly detailed, painterly artwork brings stormy seas, rugged coastlines and mythical powers to life, while Van Hamme's storytelling blends Norse-inspired adventure with fantasy and science-fiction hints. Fans of Viking sagas, epic fantasy and classic Franco-Belgian comics will find an ideal starting point here. The volume also introduces Aaricia, who becomes central to Thorgal's story. Whether you are new to European comics or a long-time reader of the Thorgal saga, this is where the legend begins.
