Thorgal: The Guardian of the Keys #9

About this issue

Thorgal, the Viking-raised wanderer from the stars, is back in one of the most imaginative chapters of the celebrated European fantasy saga. In The Guardian of the Keys, the hero awakens in a strange, blood-red world after a journey through the void, with no idea how he came to be there. A mysterious, red-eyed woman offers him a bargain: carry out a dangerous mission in a hidden realm, and he will be returned to Midgard, his home, with all the gold he can carry. Refuse or fail, and he will be sent back into the endless void. With little choice, Thorgal must pass through a portal into the legendary Second World, a land guarded by secrets and watched by a keeper who may not be what she seems. Rosiński's painterly artwork, with its luminous colours, eerie landscapes and haunting characters, is a showcase of European comics at their finest. Van Hamme's storytelling blends Norse myth, science fiction and fantasy into a gripping quest that works as a thrilling adventure on its own, while rewarding fans who have followed Thorgal from the beginning. Perfect for readers of epic fantasy and classic Franco-Belgian bande dessinée. Start reading online instantly in your browser and step into the Second World today.
