Hello Darkness #24

About this issue

Hello Darkness No. 24 is a BOOM! Studios horror anthology that gathers five unsettling stories in a single issue, curated by Bryce Carlson. Each tale brings a different creative team and a different flavour of dread, from social horror to gothic nightmare. In "Crocodile Slammer," written by Julio Anta and illustrated by Germán Erramouspe, a TV crew visits a controversial immigrant detention facility in the Everglades, where the warden's smooth public image hides something far more sinister. Chloe Brailsford's "Home With You," Derick Jones's "Be a Man" and Robert Hack's "I Can't Take You Anywhere" add a rotating set of chilling short stories, each with its own distinctive art style and tone. The issue also continues "Sunday," Part Three, by Ryan North and Giada Belviso, with colors by Roman Stevens and letters by Jodie Troutman. Whether you are a long-time follower of the series or a newcomer who loves short, sharp horror comics, this issue offers a varied sampler of contemporary genre storytelling. Moody colour work, bold lettering and striking cover art make it a rewarding read for fans of dark, modern horror.
