07-Conan the Freelance

About this book

Deep in the Karpash Mountains, an ancient crater lake hides a floating palace woven into a living mat of Sargasso weed. There, a fog-wreathed sorcerer known as the Mist Mage has waited five hundred years for the cure to a dying wizard's curse. He is only days from the last missing ingredient, and nothing will stand in his way. Conan the Freelance is a sword-and-sorcery adventure set in Robert E. Howard's Hyborian Age, written by Steve Perry. The Cimmerian is now a seasoned mercenary, selling his blade where the pay is good and the danger greater. His path leads toward the borderlands of Corinthia and Zamora, where forgotten magic stirs, monstrous servants stalk the wilds, and the Tree Folk guard secrets worth killing for. Expect brutal swordplay, eerie sorcery, lost temples and treacherous alliances, all told in fast-paced, atmospheric prose. At around 61,000 words across 26 chapters, this is a quick, gripping read for fans of heroic fantasy, Hyborian-era lore and classic barbarian adventure. It is book 7 in the Conan chronology collection and works well for newcomers and long-time devotees alike.
