Super Mondo Mega Mutts #2
Bikers, blades and beasts collide as a ruthless corporation closes in on the Mutts in Beverly Hills.
Written by Curt Pires · Art by Juan Gedeon
About this issue
Super Mondo Mega Mutts is a loud, neon-bright blast of attitude from writer Curt Pires and artist Juan Gedeon. In issue #2, a leather-jacketed, sunglasses-wearing fox with a glowing crystal blade and a motorcycle stands at the centre of a world where animals fight back against those who would use them. While the Mutts make their own noise, a shadowy corporation is already hunting them. In a cold, sterile laboratory, a scientist preaches innovation at any cost, and in a slick control room, ruthless executives use proprietary surveillance AI and GPS data to narrow down the Mutts' hideout somewhere between the Sunset Strip and Beverly Hills. Their plan: stage a crisis, smoke the Mutts out, and drag them back for study. With bold, punchy artwork, saturated colours by Graphikslava and lettering by Jeff Powell, this four-issue miniseries mixes retro-pop energy, biker-movie swagger and sharp corporate-thriller tension. Fans of over-the-top action comics, anthropomorphic heroes and stylish indie storytelling will find plenty to enjoy. This is issue 2 of 4, so start with issue #1 to get the full picture.
