Denver #1

About this issue

The world as we knew it is gone. After the rogue asteroid Aetius slammed into the moon, the oceans rose, swallowed every landmass below five thousand feet and left humanity clinging to a handful of isolated high-altitude islands. Only a few American cities survived. One stood, literally and figuratively, above the rest: Denver. Denver #1 opens Phase One of a gritty post-apocalyptic science fiction saga from writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, with art by Pier Brito. Here, the struggle for survival is fought with guns, grit and loyalty. A hard-edged, trench-coated lawman and his armed companions patrol a frozen, drowned frontier where skeletons litter the flooded shoreline and danger waits on every icy road. This first issue sets the scene for a ruthless world of martial law, desperate refugees and a dazzling, crowded city perched on top of the sunken planet. With a striking main cover by Amanda Conner and lettering by Bill Tortolini, the issue is packed with atmosphere, action and mystery. If you enjoy tense, dystopian adventure with a cinematic feel, this is the perfect jumping-on point. Note: this series contains mature themes and violence.
