The Empyrean

The Empyrean is Rebecca Yarros's #1 New York Times bestselling romantasy series – the story of riders, dragons and a war that the kingdom of Navarre has spent centuries hiding from its own people. Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was raised to become a scribe, quietly living among books and history. But her mother is the commanding general of Basgiath War College, and she orders Violet to join the Riders Quadrant – where cadets either bond with a dragon or die trying. Smaller and frailer than everyone around her, Violet must survive brutal training, ruthless rivals and Xaden Riorson, the most powerful – and most dangerous – wingleader in the quadrant, who has every reason to want her dead. What begins as a fight for survival becomes a fight for the truth. Every book raises the stakes: deeper secrets about Navarre's past, enemies beyond the wards, impossible loyalties and a love story that readers around the world can't stop talking about.
