Artemis

About this book

Welcome to Artemis, the first and only city on the moon: five giant domes, two thousand residents, and a very steep cost of living. Jazz Bashara isn't one of the billionaires or tourists. She's a porter and part-time smuggler living in a cramped capsule bunk fifteen floors underground, scraping together every slug she can to escape a life of poor decisions. When a chance to earn a fortune lands in her lap, Jazz can't resist. It's a risky job that demands every bit of her sharp tongue, her engineering know-how and her talent for bending the rules. But what begins as a clever heist quickly pulls her into a battle for control of Artemis itself, and in a city built on thin metal walls and vacuum, one mistake can be fatal. From the author of The Martian, Artemis delivers the trademark blend of hard science, problem-solving ingenuity and irreverent humour that fans love. Expect vivid lunar detail, from EVA suits and airlock cleanses to regolith, welding and life under low gravity, all told in the wisecracking first-person voice of an unforgettable heroine. At around 92,000 words across 37 chapters, this fast-paced science fiction thriller is perfect for fans of space adventure, heist stories and clever survival tales.
